Water Water! Time to Consider Aquatic Therapy

Water Water Water!

Time to get wet! Several recent studies, which were compiled by Arthritis Today, have suggested that Aquatic Therapy may decrease arthritic knee or hip pain.

Dr. Robert Bruce, a surgeon at Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic, agrees. “Water therapy can be a great way for patients to strengthen muscles surrounding joints while avoiding impact exercise that can be painful to an arthritic knee or hip.” He also notes the benefits of water exercise, “Fitness may difficult for people who have these painful joints but water exercise is a great way to burn calories but won’t aggravate already inflamed and painful areas.”
