PCT/Medical Assistant
We currently have a full time PCT/Medical Assistant position opening.
The patient care technician works directly with physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners in an orthopedic clinic. We have offices in Overland Park and Lee's Summit. Patient Care Technicians will be required to work at both locations, though our main office is in Overland Park. No nights-No weekends.
Day-to-day duties/skills needed:
- Rooming patients (gather vitals, medical history, medical records for patients)
- Application of casts, splints, slings, braces, CAM boots.
- Drawing/prepping for injections as needed.
- Performing dress changes. Removing sutures and/or staples.
- Biohazard cleanup and stocking exam rooms.
- Proficiency in typing and general understanding of IT and computer usage.
- Anatomical terminology and general understanding of medication/pharmacological uses.
- Sterilizing medical equipment.
- Assisting with office job duties such as calling patients, scanning, and mail.
Qualifications:
We are looking for a candidate that has experience in any of the following areas: Athletic Trainer, Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, ER Tech, Cast tech, or similar fields.
We prefer candidates that have education and a degree in any of the following areas: AT-C, Certified Medical Assistant, LPN, Exercise science, Kinesiology, or education involving anatomy and physiology, biology, or chemistry. This is also a great option if you are applying to medical school.
Job Type: Full-time, Monday-Friday. No weekends. No evenings. 40 hours per week.

Clinical Assistant
Position Description:
This position works directly with providers to schedule surgeries, handle patient calls, be the point person for physicians in clinic. This is primarily a sit-down job, handling patient issues, concerns, prescription refills as requested and approved and other patient care concerns.
Day-to-day duties/skills needed:
- Responsible for provider care to patients under the direction of physician and mid-levels
- Phone triage
- EMR use: document accurate records
- Complete FMLA and short-term disability paperwork
- Schedule surgeries and ensure timely communication with patients, surgeons, and medical staff
- Schedule post operative appointments
- Assist/Prepare outgoing referrals
- Draw/Prepare injections
- Phlebotomy
- Assist with in-office procedures
- Remove sutures/staples with wound care
- Application of DME items
- Remove/Apply Cast and Orthoglass splints
- Order supplies as indicated
- Communicate with hospitals, home health, physical therapy clinics, vendors, and other providers regarding patient care
- Manage/Oversee the providers schedule in outlook
- Write letter of appeals
- Assist all surgeons in clinic as needed
- Adhere to HIPAA
- Stay up to date on office procedures and protocols
- Other duties may be assigned as required
Qualifications:
Medical Assistant, LPN/RN, Surgical scrub tech, Surgery scheduler, Athletic Trainer or previous experience in similar position. Must be able to multi-task, be detailed oriented, organized and have great computer skills. We prefer candidates that have experience in scheduling surgeries and/or orthopedics.
