Job description: Patient Care Technician- Orthopedic Clinic
Location: Overland Park, KS (Main) and Lee's Summit, MO. Must be able to commute to both offices. Positional is not seasonal.
Schedule: Monday- Friday, 40 hours/week. No weekends, No Holidays.
The Role: Join a dynamic orthopedic team working alongside Physicians, Physician Assistants, and Nurse Practitioners. As a Patient Care Technician (PCT), you will be the clinical engine to our office, providing hands on orthopedic care and ensuring a seamless experience for our patients.
Orthopedic/Physiatry Specialty Care: Apply and remove casts, splints, slings, brace and other durable medical equipment.
Patient Prep: Room patients, gather vitals, update medical histories/records.
Clinical Procedures: Prep/draw injections, perform dressing changes, remove sutures/stapes and other various tasks in clinic.
Facility Support: Maintain a sterile environment through biohazard cleanup, medical equipment sterilization and exam room stocking.
Tech & Office Work: Utilize IT proficiency for fast paced typing and medical charting; assist with scanning, mail and patient outreach.
This role offers a work-life balance in the medical field with a strictly weekday schedule and no holiday shifts, all while providing high-level clinical exposure in a specialized orthopedic setting.
Qualifications & Education
- Experience: Preferred experience as an Athletic Trainer, Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, ER Tech, or Cast Tech. (Willing to train the right candidate).
- Education: Preferred degree or coursework in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Biology, Chemistry, or related fields focusing on Anatomy & Physiology.
- Future Providers: This is an exceptional clinical experience opportunity for those currently applying to Medical, Physical Therapy or Physician Assistant School.
