Stephen V. Hiatt, MD
I joined Kansas City Bone and Joint Clinic in August 2017. While studying civil engineering and playing collegiate baseball I developed a unique appreciation for the musculoskeletal system, leading me into the field of orthopaedics. I am board certified with the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery. My clinical practice focuses on comprehensive treatment of the hand and upper extremity. Conditions that I treat include fractures, rotator cuff injuries, arthritis, dislocations, tendonitis, sports-related injuries and nerve compression issues such as carpal tunnel syndrome.
My goal is always to maximize non-operative treatment modalities and discuss surgical options when necessary. I encourage patients to make informed decisions about their own health by asking questions and engaging in dialogue together. I am dedicated to improving the well being of my patients with high quality medical care. Prior to joining our office, I completed a hand and upper extremity fellowship at the University at Buffalo- State University of New York. I am an active member in American Society for Surgery of the Hand (ASSH), American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), Mid-America Orthopaedics Association, Missouri State Orthopaedics Association, and Kansas City Medical Society.
I completed my undergraduate degree at University of Missouri – Rolla. During that time I enjoyed pitching for the baseball team. I completed my medical degree and orthopaedic surgery residency program at University of Missouri Kansas City School of Medicine. My wife and I are both fortunate to have been raised in the Kansas City area and look forward to raising our family here in town. We enjoy the food, parks, sports and the people.
