Bike Safety
Bike Safety

The weather is starting to turn into beautiful Spring. Our bodies are just aching to get out there and soak up the sun and experience the budding of the trees and flowers. What better way to get out in nature than to hop on the ol’ bicycle. Bike riding is fun, it’s a wonderful exercise, easy on the joints, and gives you a since of freedom.

Here are a few things to consider before pulling the bike out of storage and hitting the open trail:

First things first. Wear a helmet!

“Wearing a helmet can reduce the risk of head injury by nearly 85%.”

Make sure the bike is fitted to you.  Tire pressure is correct, brakes are not worn down, and check on the chain tightness.

So, check and check … right? Wrong.

You’re brain is protected and the bike is all set, but what about what you’re wearing?

Make sure you’re wearing clothing that is easy to maneuver in. Wearing close toed shoes and pants that wont get caught in the chain or tire spokes.

Try to wear something with reflective properties so drivers can see you better.

NOW we’re set!
