Gerald R. McNamara, MD

I became a part of Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in June of 1996 but have been in practice since 1983. I earned my undergraduate and medical degrees from the University of Arizona, Tucson and completed my orthopaedic surgery residency at the University of Kansas, School of Medicine. I am Board Certified in orthopaedic surgery.

Since 2002, I have been one of the team physicians for Rockhurst High School and previously for 2 professional indoor soccer teams, The Comets and The KC Attack.

Giving back is important to me and I have participated with Tarhawks Charity Surgery for many years participating in multiple medical missions to Nicaragua. In March of 2010, I was awarded the Menorah Medical Center First Humanitarian Award. In December 2012 and 2013 I participated in Operation Walk USA providing knee replacements with other nursing and hospital volunteers.

Outside of the clinic and surgery, I enjoy listening to music and playing guitar with a garage band, spending time with my family and KU basketball.

I enjoy the challenges and rewards of my job as an Orthopaedic surgeon. It has given me the opportunity to improve patients’ quality of life both surgically and non-surgically. It is rewarding to be instrumental throughout the healing process.
