Dr. Samuelson earned his undergraduate degree from Iowa State University and his Medical Degree from the University of Iowa College of Medicine. He completed his internship and residency in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Kansas School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in Knee, Shoulder and Sports Medicine at Louisiana State University. He joined Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in August 1994. Dr. Samuelson was originally certified in orthopaedic surgery by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery in 1996, and recertified in 2007.

Dr. Samuelson is a member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine (AOSSM), and the Arthroscopic Association of North America (AANA).  He serves as team physician for Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst University.  He has also been involved as team physician for the University of Missouri at Kansas City, Baker University, and the Kansas City Comets of the MISL.  Dr. Samuelson enjoys spending time with his family and enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, and playing piano.
