This handout is provided for patients scheduled for EMG (electromyography) and/or NCV (nerve conduction velocity) studies. These tests are diagnostic studies ordered by your physician to determine if your muscles and nerves are working properly. The results will be used along with your history, symptoms, physical examination, and neurological examination to establish a diagnosis and determine what individual treatment is best.
