Dr. Cheng earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Rice University in Houston, Texas and her doctor of medicine degree at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, Texas. She completed her internship, residency in plastic surgery, and fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at Barnes Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Missouri.  Dr. Cheng was a full time faculty member in the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Washington University School of Medicine from August 1999 to July 2007.  She left as an assistant professor to join Kansas City Bone & Joint Clinic in August 2007. Dr. Cheng is board certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery with a board certified sub-specialty for Surgery of the Hand.  Dr. Cheng's specialty interests involve all aspects of hand surgery, including arthritic conditions, nerve problems, tendon injuries, and vascular disorders. Dr. Cheng enjoys travel, cooking, fishing, and playing piano.
